Hall of Fame

The Duluth East High School Hall of Fame was established in 2012 in a joint effort between the East High School Activities Office and the newly established Duluth East High School Foundation. The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize the outstanding achievements made by community leaders, athletes, coaches, advisors, and teachers from East High School.

The selection of honorees is made by the Hall of Fame Committee, a standing committee of the Duluth East High School Foundation. To learn more about the Hall of Fame Committee process and criteria or to make a nomination, click on the buttons below.

George Goldfarb

George Goldfarb

George Goldfarb, Class of 1977, built the Maurices apparel chain into a retail powerhouse. He is extremely involved in the community. He serves on the ALLETE Boarc, chair for Essentia Health, and on the UMD chancellor’s board. His philanthropy is critical to many community organizations – including the DEHSF.
Greg Goldman

Greg Goldman

Greg Goldman, Class of 1969, is the owner of Kolquist, Seitz, and Goldman. Goldman is an active community member of the Harbortown Rotary Club and was the past chairman of the YWCA Foundation. He also serves on the Voom Foundation and is a founding member of the Duluth East Foundation where he served as treasurer.
Mark Heaslip

Mark Heaslip

Mark Heaslip, Class of 1969, graduated from East regarded as one of the school’s top hockey talents. He played for the UMD Bulldogs where he was winner of the Goldie Wolfe Award. In 1973, Heaslip signed with the LA Kings and played for the NHL’s LA Kings and NY Rangers, among other teams.
Michael Laskin

Michael Laskin

Michael Laskin, Class of 1969, has been a working professional actor for over 35 years in film and television, off-Broadway, at America’s leading regional theatres, and in thousands of voice-overs for radio, TV and animation. He has worked with many of the world's greatest actors, directors and writers.
Rick Rickert

Rick Rickert

Rick Rickert, Class of 2001, was named 2001’s Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball. He was a highly recruited college prospect, settling on the U of M. In 2002 Rick became the first Gopher player to be named Big Ten Freshman of the Year Award. Rickert spent 15 years in professional basketball, retiring in 2018.
