Success Stories

“I am an Art Teacher at East and teach several Mediums in different classes that use expensive consumables. Every day students walk into my room they are using consumable supplies and the district simply can’t fund some of the projects we are able to do in the Art room. If it wasn’t for our generous donations from the Foundation, we would not be able to have the robust programming that we have here at East.”
- James Carlson, Art Teacher
“Thank you for the grant money. I used it to purchase two new compound microscopes to replace some old ones that were not working so great for students. It was needed and I hope to continue to improve the equipment that my 1 regular and 4 honors biology classes 160+ students use.”
- Eric Holmstrom, Science Teacher
“Thanks to the Duluth East Foundation for awarding the Duluth East Golf Team with a grant. We are excited to use the grant money to purchase training equipment that will allow the golfers the opportunity to improve their skills before the courses open. With close to 40 golfers between the boys and girls’ team, it is essential to have proper equipment for indoor practices.”
- Michael Swanson, Golf Coach
